MRS. GEURIN'S CLASS

Sunday, November 10, 2013

1st week in November was a good one. We have started talking about thanksgiving through conversations and read alouds. The kids have surprised me with their answers. We will dive more into it the next two weeks before the break begins!!

We had a fun week full of yummy snacks that were provided by Aislynn's mom. Each day there was a thanksgiving themed snack. The kids loved all of the things that were brought. The hard work definitely paid off!
Here are a few of the snacks from this week:

Mayflower boats filled with pretzels and cheese!

Carrots and ranch dip!

Thanksgiving Blessing Mix! Each item represented something different for Thanksgiving!

Mary Elizabeth surprised me with a Sonic Diet Coke on Wednesday!! She brought it to me before school started and said Happy Hump Day!! So sweet! She and her mama made my day. Thank you ME and Mrs. Dees!!!

Nicholas and Cambren were our all stars in PE this week. I was so proud of these boys. They got lots of hugs from their classmates. The kids were excited too!!

Aislynn's mom was our secret reader this week, too. The kids had no idea who it was until she entered the classroom. She brought several thanksgiving books that she read to the class! They loved all the books. I was so proud of their carpet behaviors and participation. Definitely sat still and used their listening ears! Way too go kids!!

Just an update on what's been happenin in room 110! Last week was a short week with kids but it felt like a long one! Ha! Our 1st field trip was a success! We went to Bobrook Farms to their Pumpkin Patch!! We love BIbrook! They are always so welcoming and nice. They also are very organized, too. They have stations set up where the classes would visit each one and then switch. Some of the stations were seeing the animals, hayride, corn maze, and picking a pumpkin. We even had a picnic out there! Here are some cool pics from our trip!

Aislynn got music star last week! Even after being wiped out after a full day at the PP!

We were on the news on ch 4 last Wednesday morning!! We felt like tv stars! Thanks to Greg Dee for coming out to see us! We love his weather lessons!

Our class was selected again to sit in the Retro Cafe last week, too! The kiddos love sitting in this place! It is such a fun incentive!! Thanks to our administration for getting this set up for our students.

I love this place!

All I can say is Roberts is the best school in LR! I'm not bias or anything. Ha! We have so much fun all year long. This week has brought excitement to the kids. We had red ribbon week where the kids learned about saying no to drug and bullies. Mrs. Weatter did a good job with her lessons. She definitely brings it down to my kiddos level so they understand the meaning and reasoning. We dressed up each day to support Red Ribbon Week! Here are some cute pics of my kids throughout the week!

Zander being a rock star!

ME and Emma wearing their shades

Cute cowboys and cowgirls

Through all of these fun events, we have been learning too in room 110! Here are some of my students making words with the "an" word family. They love working with partners!!

Kinder had a special visitor from the news!! Channel 4 Greg Dee came to talk with our kids about weather. They loved hearing him speak and see all of his pictures and videos of real life storms. The kids even got filmed to be on a news this week!! Our class will be aired on Wednesday (10/30) at 6:14 and 6:44 am! Tune in!!

We had 2 new all stars in PE this week. Good job Keigon and Zander! Keep up the good work.

We also started having a special reader this week. Every Friday, we will have someone come into the class and read a story to the kids. It will be a secret which will be so much fun!! The kids will just have to find out when my door opens!! We had Noah's mom come for the 1st time!! Thanks for coming, Amanda!!!

We also celebrated the upcoming 50th day of school this week. On Friday, K had a sock hop. Here are a few pics of our sock hop. Thanks to Mrs. Weatter for letting us borrow some of her decorations!! And to the moms that helped organize and come join in on the fun!!

Best pic we got as a class. The kids were too excited to even stand still for a quick pic. Ha!

The fab kindergarten team!! I love my coworkers. We sure do know how to have some fun!!
