It is Spring yet??

Wow! What a winter it has been. It has been so cold that the kids haven't had outside recess in weeks! They have so much energy that they need to release so we try to do that in my room. We like acting like penguins by doing the penguin dance! My kids love it and crack me up every time we play it on the smart board!

Sweet Samantha brought snacks last week. They were so yummy. One afternoon, it warmed up a bit so we had to get out of the building for some fresh air!

Here are the kids during GT class with Mrs. Jenkins! She keeps them engaged learning new things each week- especially big vocabulary words! They were classifying and sorting shapes!!

Noah practicing his addition to 10 using the rainbow strategy. Way too go!

Miray working on her addition with snap cubes. Manipulatives are sooo helpful!

These two girls had a play date after school and I couldn't resist not showing. Samantha and ME having way too much fun. They are divas that's for sure!

Noah's mom was our secret reader! Thanks for reading to our class. The kids love your book selection- especially FROGGY!!!

We have been reviewing our manners and how to make good choices lately. We were reminded of some of the manners we need to say and do by Aislynn's dress. I love that she can be fashionable and influential at the same time.

Back at it, again!

Welcome to 2014! We decided to make some New Year resolutions. Here are what some of the kids in my class came up. They are sure trying to do these things and I appreciate it so much.

Another happy from Aislynn and her family! Thank you!

Our first week back, Bryson and Aislynn got all star of the week in PE! Lovin there smiles for the camera.

In writing,we talked about sequencing. We made a snowman as a class each step at a time writing them down to help us remember what we did first, next then, and last!

Then I let the kids make their own snowman the way we did at their tables on their own. Love them all. Shows everyone's creativity.

We also got chosen for Retro Cade the 1st week back. That was such a surprise and the kiddos were thrilled! Keep it up boys and girls!

The second back week, we had Miray and Noah get All Stars in PE!

Loved Cambren's outfit one day and HAD to get his pic! He loves cheesin for a picture!

Our secret reader last Friday was Keigon's mom, Ms. Garrison! She brought "If you give a pig a cupcake!" The kids love Laura Numeroff's books so they were highly entertained! :)

Keigon and his sweet mommy after she read to us. Thanks again for coming!!

We have been learning about historical leaders this January. And having specifically learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Here was a fun project we did before MLK's day! They made him with construction paper and unscrambled a sentence gluing it together to make a complete sentence. Challenging but fun!!

The past month

What an exciting past month it has been in Kinder! We have had so much going on lately- it's hard to document everything but I got some great pics from before our winter vacation.

My kids made this for me while I was at a staff Christmas lunch!! What a surprise!! I had no idea!! They sure do keep good surprises. Thank you moms who came to help make this possible! ;) It is so special and I will have it forever!!!

Greetings from Mrs. Geurin's class!!

Mary Elizabeth's grandfather, daddy mike was in town the week before Christmas and surprised ME and the class by reading a super cute book. Thanks Daddy Mike! It was such a treat to have you in our class!

I have started picking tables to share their writing each day (if time allows). We love this because it helps talk out loud about your thoughts, drawing and writing. We help each other correct any mistakes we made to make it better!!!

Gabrielle's holiday tradition!

Eli having too much fun in the teacher chair! Grins all around!

What Eli is doing over the break

Stephen writes about his Christmas tradition.

Hope everyone had wonderful holidays over the break. I sure did miss all the kiddos. I definitely thought about them a lot. Today was such a happy day seeing my kids faces full of smiles and bodies full of excitement to see each other and share about their break. It filled my heart soooo much. I am reminded daily how thankful I am to be their teacher. Thank you again parents for allowing me to teach your child. It is such an honor!
