Valentine Week!

Lots of love was shown this week. Valentine's Day was a success!! Check out what all happened down below! 😜

Eli got music star this week. So proud of you! Let's keep it up!!!

Another strategy we learned for subtraction! We used mats, number sentences, answers, counters and a cup where the kids put the counters if it was being "taken away."

How to make a heart! Such a fun activity! I love all the different shapes of hearts.

Here are the pictures we took in front of our February heart bulletin board. We used this picture for our heart picture frame the kids got to decorate at the party on Thursday.

Even though our week was busy with valentine preparations, we learned about subtraction using the wii. That's right, we played wii bowling. The kids tried to knock down pins and subtract the pins from 10. They had a recording sheet that they used while their friends bowled.

My students had a home project where they had to make a valentine box and write valentines to their friends in our class this whole week. I was super impressed with all the boxes. The kids went above and beyond. We had a blast!!!!

Passing out valentines 😍😘❤️

ME, Aislynn, and Olivia giving hugs on our party day. They are such good friends!!! Thanks Mrs. Hardin for sharing her with us.

My valentine day gift from Aislynn! Yummy chocolate covered strawberries. So delicious!!

All of my sweet valentines from my students! Love all the candy, cards, mug, and gift card!! Many thanks!!

Getting ready for our Valentine Party!

Valentine Bingo!

Math heart match! The kids had to find 2 parts of a heart that matched. One side had a number sentence and the other side had the answer. This was tricky but the kids liked it!!

Decorating cookies, drinking juice and eating valentine trail mix!

Zander being cray cray at the party!! He wanted his picture taken so this is what he did! Ha!

Using chopsticks to pick up conversational hearts. It was a race- they were timed. The student that had the most received a prize!!

Decorating and mod podging heart picture frames

I had some visitors from last year that brought me a valentine gift and a hug! Love These former students!!

Sweet Haven!

February!!

Wow!- it's February! ❤️

The past couple of weeks have been so busy. We don't play around at Roberts. We keep these parents and kids pretty busy throughout the school year. And we appreciate them!!

We have been learning addition and subtraction the past few weeks in math. I have learned that my kids enjoy playing games- they are fun and educational! Reinforces the skill and gives them more practice! Look at all those hard workers below.

Roberts Rendezvous is in March! Our class was selected for a fun in the sun basket. Many parents donated items for our basket and here is the final product!! I am sure ours will bid fast because it's pretty fabulous! Thanks to all who contributed!!

Working on our math skills at the carpet during work time! Number lines, number sentences...so proud!

Samantha and Mohammed got All Star in PE!

Our secret reader on Friday was Samantha's mom, Trisha Schmitt! She brought some really cute books. The kids loved them! And I love seeing the kids expressions when they see the reader walk in-they get super excited especially if it's their family member! Thanks for keeping it a surprise, parents!

The 100th day was a blast! Lots of fun activities that kept the kids engaged and learning about numbers! One of the best parts is seeing the kids dress up as "old" people. Seriously cracks me up. They looked adorable even at 100 years of age!

My February happy from Aislynn! Homemade cookies. I shared with the K team at lunch one day- they were a hit! Thanks Farrell family!

More 100th day activities...

Love the snack mix! The kids picked 10 pieces of 10 different snack ingredients and mixed it in their bag. Yummy!!!

Keigon and Stephen got All Star last Thursday. Way too go, boys!

I helped Mrs. Apsche with the mini cheer clinic last week. We had 3 practices after school and performed at our spirit night at halftime at a UALR basketball game. These K and 1st graders did amazing!!!!

So my mini cheer girls wanted to show the class their dance and cheers so they did and they rocked it!! Loved their hard work!

This month we are learning about dental hygiene. Dr. Cloud came to visit Roberts. He had a great presentation with a video and sweet tooth. She was a hit!! ;)

Aislynn's aunt Holly was our reader this past Friday. We loved having her and her kids in our class. We loved Lilly and her purple plastics purse! Perfect book choice!

Family love!

It is Spring yet??

Wow! What a winter it has been. It has been so cold that the kids haven't had outside recess in weeks! They have so much energy that they need to release so we try to do that in my room. We like acting like penguins by doing the penguin dance! My kids love it and crack me up every time we play it on the smart board!

Sweet Samantha brought snacks last week. They were so yummy. One afternoon, it warmed up a bit so we had to get out of the building for some fresh air!

Here are the kids during GT class with Mrs. Jenkins! She keeps them engaged learning new things each week- especially big vocabulary words! They were classifying and sorting shapes!!

Noah practicing his addition to 10 using the rainbow strategy. Way too go!

Miray working on her addition with snap cubes. Manipulatives are sooo helpful!

These two girls had a play date after school and I couldn't resist not showing. Samantha and ME having way too much fun. They are divas that's for sure!

Noah's mom was our secret reader! Thanks for reading to our class. The kids love your book selection- especially FROGGY!!!

We have been reviewing our manners and how to make good choices lately. We were reminded of some of the manners we need to say and do by Aislynn's dress. I love that she can be fashionable and influential at the same time.
