Feb. 18-22

This was another fun week in K. We were working on subtraction. I love getting the kids up and moving because I think kids learn kinesthetically or atleast have fun! Sooo we played bowling on the wii. The kids were able to knock down as many pins as they could. While someone was bowling, the rest of the kids were writing and solving the subtraction number sentences on their whiteboards.

We also played a subtraction partner game. The kids enjoy working together.

Dr. Cloud, local dentist came to Roberts! He visited K and gave an awesome presentation! He showed the kids a video, demonstrated what foods/drinks are good and which ones are not healthy. He also showed us how we are to brush our teeth correctly and floss too. The kids loved the big tooth that came. What a fun way to learn about dental hygiene!

Week of Valentine's Day

Whew! What a week it was! We had lots of excitement. From birthdays to parties, our room was full of joy!

I love to do daily news with my kids on my white board in the mornings to start off the day. The kids enjoy this! They get to participate, critique, and learn all at the same time!

We learned about "bl" blends in literacy. The kids played a partner game where they matched the picture and word together. They were cut in half so they really had to use their strategy of using picture clues and sounding out their words.

Here are 2 star students of the week in PE! Woohoo!

We're doing subtraction in math!! I am having a blast teaching them and they seem to be loving it. We do lots of engaging activities that keep the kids hooked. This was a subtraction game using a dice. They were writing down the problem and solving it.

On to the Valentine's Day...this was one of the most exciting days for my kids. I could tell they were giddy the minute they walked into my room. They had valentines to pass out, room decorations to look at, and a party to attend. Check out all the fun we had on that day and at our V-Day party! Thanks parents for all your support and help!

Presents for me! I love being a teacher! :)

Aiden brought a flower for each girl in the class. What a stud!

Passing out valentine's to each other

Check out the boxes! How creative are my students?! (and parents) ha!

What's going on in K? Take a look.

Well this past week, we had the 100th day of school. In K, we celebrated big time. Kids and teachers dressed up like we were 100 years old, did some fun activities, and had a super yummy snack. Take a look at all the fun stuff we did and what we were learning about in literacy and math.

My students are doing such a good job constructing numbers. They are using rods and units to build small and large numbers. I am so proud of them!!

We are learning how to build words with the short a. Here are some activities we did. Drew letters out of a bag to use as beginning sound and played word fun which is a partner game where students spin and land on a word family to build words. The kids decided if they were real or nonsense words
