I love this place!

All I can say is Roberts is the best school in LR! I'm not bias or anything. Ha! We have so much fun all year long. This week has brought excitement to the kids. We had red ribbon week where the kids learned about saying no to drug and bullies. Mrs. Weatter did a good job with her lessons. She definitely brings it down to my kiddos level so they understand the meaning and reasoning. We dressed up each day to support Red Ribbon Week! Here are some cute pics of my kids throughout the week!

Zander being a rock star!

ME and Emma wearing their shades

Cute cowboys and cowgirls

Through all of these fun events, we have been learning too in room 110! Here are some of my students making words with the "an" word family. They love working with partners!!

Kinder had a special visitor from the news!! Channel 4 Greg Dee came to talk with our kids about weather. They loved hearing him speak and see all of his pictures and videos of real life storms. The kids even got filmed to be on a news this week!! Our class will be aired on Wednesday (10/30) at 6:14 and 6:44 am! Tune in!!

We had 2 new all stars in PE this week. Good job Keigon and Zander! Keep up the good work.

We also started having a special reader this week. Every Friday, we will have someone come into the class and read a story to the kids. It will be a secret which will be so much fun!! The kids will just have to find out when my door opens!! We had Noah's mom come for the 1st time!! Thanks for coming, Amanda!!!

We also celebrated the upcoming 50th day of school this week. On Friday, K had a sock hop. Here are a few pics of our sock hop. Thanks to Mrs. Weatter for letting us borrow some of her decorations!! And to the moms that helped organize and come join in on the fun!!

Best pic we got as a class. The kids were too excited to even stand still for a quick pic. Ha!

The fab kindergarten team!! I love my coworkers. We sure do know how to have some fun!!

Fun Fall Events

What an exciting week at Roberts Elementary!!!! We had several events that kept us busy and excited!! First of all, congrats to our class for all the pledges we received. We got over $30 in pledges which means we get 3 of our incentives. The 1st one was extra recess which we had last week, the second one was crazy hair day which was awesome, and third one is free choice in centers!!! Way to go, friends! Proud of you. Here are some pics of yesterday's crazy hair day!

We also had the Boosterthon Fun Run yesterday, too. My kids did a great job running their laps. I am so proud of their efforts. Check out this cool event! We raised lots of money for our school! Go Eagles!

Also, it was National Boss day yesterday, too. Wow! What a Wednesday! The K team loves our bosses so much!!! We decided to give them each mums as a thank you for their support and leadership!

Tonight we had our Math & Literacy Fall Carnival. Our teachers, administration, and parents have worked so hard to put this event on!! Thank you to all who were involved to make this happen. The kids had such a great time- you could tell on their faces!!! :) A special thanks to Wendy Farrell, Aislynn's mom for helping organize and decorating the K/1 flex. It turned out great! Check out or fun night!

Well this was the 1st week that the Retro Cafe opened at Roberts Elementary! This was designed as an incentive for the classes that did/do a great job in the dining room during lunch time. A class is selected each day and is announced the next day on the morning news! The class that is selected gets to go in the dining room first, get their trays first, and go outside first, playing on a special playground too. Our class hasn't sat in it yet but we hope to soon!! The K teachers sat in it a little bit ago to break it in and set the tone for the kids! Check it out!!!

We have been learning the "at" and "ap" word families. The kids got to play a partner game where they were able to build words. Try learned that all they had to do was change the beginning sound to make a new word and that some words were real words and some were nonsense words.

These girlies are such cuties!! I love their fall outfits but most of all their love for school and friends. Their attitudes toward life is awesome. So positive, friendly, and helpful!!!

Stephen was all star in PE on Thursday! Woohoo!

Mary Elizabeth brought me a Diet Coke Friday morning!! It was a perfect surprise. She came in all smiles and said Happy Friday and TGIF. Love her and her sweet mama!

K had a special visitor on Friday! We had fireman, Mr. Shoemaker and the NLR pink fire truck come to Roberts!! The kids absolutely LOVED this! Thank you to all those people who help make learning about safety be so fun! We even got our picture with the fire truck! :)
