It was election week at Roberts

Although it was a short week with the kids, we did a lot!! In social studies, we learned about voting. It was perfect since it was election week. The K teachers and the other Mrs. Geurin (literacy coach) decorated the flex space. We read Duck for President, Grace for President, and My Teacher for President on Monday. The kids got to vote who they wanted for president on Tuesday. We had everything- a ballot, voting booth, ballot box, and even the "I voted" stickers. The kids had sooo much fun doing this and teachers, too. Mrs. Geurin helped count all the ballots and announced the winner on the intercom at the end of the day. The winner was....drumroll please...Grace for President. Woooo!

We like to rock and roll

This week we learned...

about the letter sounds Gg and Rr. The kids are learning these so quick and starting to read!! Here are two different lists we made of words that began with these two sounds.

We also worked on solving word problems in math. Here are Ryan and Isabella solving their problem. Go girls!!!

So..at Roberts we like to count with our hundreds chart to know how many days we have been I school. Well this Wednesday, Oct. 31st was Halloween and we had a sock hop in our flex space! The kids and teachers dressed in 50s attire. Everyone looked awesome!!! The kids got to decorate a cookie and drink a coke float at their 1st station. Then my kids got to hula hoop and dance at their second station. Thanks again parents for volunteering to help and sending items. Look at all the fun we had.

Sweet Haven was sick all week and missed out at the sock hop. But she dressed in her best to share a pic with me. Feel better!!

Enjoy your weekend! Remember parents next week is a short week. No school Thursday or Friday due to Professional Development.
